We are all, individually and together, trying to make our way through life in a vast universe, seeking knowledge, direction, love, and reassurance.

Values are fundamental, lasting beliefs or ideals about what is good or bad, desirable or undesirable.  They guide a person’s decisions, words, and actions; make up their character and identity; and are generally shared by members of a culture or community.  Facts are what has really occurred or is actually the case.  The application of our values results in more facts.  As David Hume described them, values have to do with what ought to be the case, and facts have to do with what is the case.  Facts are easier to focus on than values.  However, values are primary, as facts are meaningless without values.

This site will explore all aspects of values and facts.  We will examine and discuss the values reflected in our words, actions, and the facts we create; and how we might raise our values and improve the facts.
